MmmmMmmm Flat bread! You like Naan? Then your gonna love our Flat Bread. Naan is not vegan, but Eureka Flat Breads are! Great for sopping up saucy rice dishes, served with a garden salad or wrapped around a yummy vegan Gyro. No matter how you devour it, our vegan Flat Bread will have you shouting "EUREKA"!
Prep Time: 15 Completion Time: 0 Serving Size: 8 pieces of flatbread
2 cups all purpose flour
1 T baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup Soymilk
2 T olive oil
In a mixing bowl, combine the all purpose flour, baking powder and salt and set aside.
Combine the water, Soymilk and olive oil together and add to the mixing bowl of dry ingredients. Mix well using a dough cutting tool or a wooden spoon.
When a dough ball has formed, transfer to a floured surface and continue to kneed with your hands until well combined. Divide the dough in half creating two dough balls, then divide each of those balls in half. You should now have four dough balls, divide the four balls in half once again, creating 8 small balls of dough and set them aside.
Take one dough ball at a time and flatten it out with the palm of your hand. Now using a rolling pin, continue to flatten the dough until it is approximately 8 inches in diameter and quite thin.
Heat a griddle over medium high heat and allow surface get hot. Place one of the dough circles on the griddle
and cook until bubbles begin to form and the edges begin to lift, about 1-2 minutes. Use tongs to quickly flip it over and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side. Remove from the griddle and place on a plate and continue to repeat this process with the remaining circles of dough.
Allow to cool before storing them in an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to one week... If they last that long.
